My husband, Dave, and me

Experience: I provided child care in my home for 12 years when my sons were young and was certified through the Marion Co. Dept. of Job & Family Services. During that time I had the privilege of doing a presentation at a state CACFP meeting, and presenting workshops two years in a row at a national family child care conference in Atlanta. I regularly presented a portion of the required Health & Safety in Family Child Care training for local child care providers. In 1995 I stopped doing child care to become the Executive Director of the newly formed child care resource & referral (CCR&R) agency for our region, Child Care Choices. I worked in the CCR&R field until the summer of 2011, serving as the Data/IS Coordinator for OCCRRA for 9 years, and then working with the national CCR&R association data services team for 3 years to create help systems and documentation for their software. I missed the direct work with children though and, in September 2011, I opened my home for child care once again. In addition to my family child care experience, I have worked with all age groups of children at church for over 30 years. I am an experienced, loving, creative, involved caregiver.

About me:  I love my family and friends. I love children. I love making music, especially on the hammered dulcimer. I love art and beauty and creativity and laughing. I love gardening and nature and I love God who created it all. I wear many hats, but one of my greatest joys, and my primary mission in life, is to see the unique personalities and gifting of children blossom and grow: to see them become who God created them to be. I am so privileged to play a part in that and so happy to be doing child care once again.

My husband and I have been married for over 42 years and have two awesome, grown sons and one grandchild. I have worked with children for 35+ years in various capacities (counting being a mother). As this site develops, I plan to offer stories, activity ideas, programs, and materials that I have come into being through my work with children at church and in my family child care business.
